[I/O] Lessons from nature

Hello there mates, been waaay too long eh? Lots of very exciting things going on in my life now. Stay tuned for more updates on that, in good time :-)

I went into one of my deep thinking sessions the other day, and was thinking about crazy deep stuff... about nature, about the way things are with the world, and about how everything created by it just perfect. just for an example, take the most basic of human institutions, marriage and relationships. Go ahead, look at it. see how amazingly perfect it? Forget everything about today's relationships, and marvel at its beauty and symmetry.

It is a proven fact that men and women are different. We are hardwired differently, think differently, have different ideas of what is important and what is not, and how we deal with situations. There have been many cases when people have slapped their heads in frustration, saying "I dont understand her/him! How the heck can she/he do a thing like that? I'd never have done that if I were in that situation". Well mate, you're different! You're not friggin clones, are ya?

Life has such beautiful lessons for us, if only we'd open our eyes to it. For example, we all know that marriages are a lovely thing, but how many of us have thought deeply about the mechanics of marriage? heck, most people aren't as jobless as me anyways...

Men and women are so different, and this is what makes a marriage a very fascinating topic to think about.

Men have the opportunity to learn that emotions and feelings do matter. And women, on the other hand, have the opportunity to learn that sometimes it is essential to separate the event from the associated emotion. This brings clarity and calmness of the mind.

Men learn to appreciate the value of a conversation and of sharing feelings, and the deeper bonding it creates. Women learn the value of silence, and that sometimes saying nothing is better than saying anything at all.

Men appreciate listening to their hearts, and women appreciate the use of the head.

Men listen that "Hey, maybe grooming isnt such a bad thing after all, and maybe I shouldn't bite my nails and scratch my butt so often, even though its so much fun" and Women learn "Hey, maybe looks aren't all that important... what matters is the person. Both in my case and in the case of my partner"

Men begin to appreciate the value of subtlety, and women learn the value of frank, straight talk.

Men begin to appreciate taking time off for themselves, and women begin to appreciate the value of punctuality and time.

Men learn patience, and, guess what? Women learn patience too! :-D

I've seen that relationships end up unsuccessfully because instead of appreciating difference, people end up fighting them. Instead of learning and growing together, people tend to force the partner to think like them. This naturally leads to tension and lots of frustration in the long run. There is so much that we can learn from each other, all it needs is an open mind and patience. After all, Nature would'nt have put us together if she didn't want us to be together :-)

I found this rather beautiful/funny video too, Enjoy!
